I do singing and guitaring in a powerpop band but don't often see the genre mentioned on DiS.

Seeing as many board favourites such as Weezer, Teenage Fanclub and Elvis Costello fall under this banner (not to mention Big Star, Cheap Trick and Red Kross), what are your thoughts on this often overlooked genre and do you have any bands to recommend?
