Genres that came and went without really making an impact...

To round off my trilogy of threads I've started on the music board today:

For some reason the "I'm drunk at work" thread got me thinking about crunk, which was going to be huge a couple of years back. It wasn't though. Or was it and did I miss it?

And of course there was UK Garage which had pretty mcuh already come and gone by the time Radio 1 had gone overboard and dedicated half their weekend schedules to it.

There never really was a grime revolution either. The New Acoustic Music left barely a single successful artist in its wake.
