My flatmate made this for me, I thought it was pretty funny.

LISTENING INSTRUCTIONS FOR SONIC YOUTH

1. Try and listen to Daydream Nation all the way through.

2. You will probably get bored. This is because their genius has yet to sink in.

3. What you need to appreciate is their DEPTH, their range in sound.

4. Listen to the first track on 'Goo', "Dirty Boots". Sorry these are copied off CD sans Internet ...

5. Now listen to track 4 on Daydream Nation again: the psychobilly brilliance of "Across The Breeze". Now you can glimpse their INSANITY.

6. Go to track 6 on 'Dirty', "Drunken Butterfly". Now listen to track 9, "Candle", on Daydream Nation. Now you can appreciate their BEAUTY.

7. Now listen to the "Rain King Trilogy", which is actually three songs, but appears as Track 12 on Daydream Nation. Finally their POWER appears. You are now a fan of Sonic Youth.

8. Go through Daydream Nation until it begins to get less exciting, then go onto Dirty. Goo isn't really that great an album, but it's still Sonic Youth, and as such still worth a listen.

9. Then download Sister for me, so that I don't have to go back home to get it. Cheers for Spiderland ...
