Music Social More…

Why are we still obsessed with the 'new york' 'scene'?

prole-art-threat [Edit] [Delete] 13:59, 12 March '08

Of course there's a multitude of great bands from there and long may this be the case but is it still a 'hotbed' because ugly UK journalists can get a freebie holiday? surely? Also this utter utter myth that a 'scene' means vibrant forward looking music is the biggest pile of turd we've ever been sold, dating back to at least Merseybeat and nothing but NOTHING but marketing cynicism anf rather hackneyed like most of everything today.

Right what other archaic music model/myths can we discuss now?
