Do you think it's easier to get ahead if you're arrogant?

This is a question for people in bands really and it is this:

If you continued to make the exact music you're making but adopted an Oasis/Stone Roses/Kasabian type attitude of telling everyone you're the best band in the world, do you think you'd be more 'successful' than you are at the moment?

I'm aware this is in similar territory a discussion a couple of days back but I think it's sufficiently different to warrant it's own thread (in so far as the previus one was "is arrogance a good thing" whereas mine is "does arrogance help you succeed?"
