So, it turns out my friend's ex(?)-boyfriend (crazy/brilliant homeless guy) is an accomplished yet undeniably strange musician. I believe him to be the first truly 'outsider' hip-hop musician I have ever come across.

Actually the lesbian rap duo I saw live once might constitute another example of the genre, but they were more just in the 'charmingly shit' side of the spectrum.
