Favourite music books?

pariko [Edit] [Delete] 20:31, 24 March '08

Going through a spate of "books-on-music" reading at the moment; a few biographies and autobiographies, stuff like Stoned and Simon Reynolds' one on post-punk etc. I reckon my next purchase (or borrow) will be "Our Band Could Be Your Life", but beyond that, is there any absolute classics that nobody should miss out on? In particular, I'd kinda like to some pointers as to what books deal best with A) the ridiculously over-indulgent prog heyday of Yes/Genesis/King Crimson/ELP/Pink Floyd/Rush etc etc. and B) the emergence and subsequent popularity of grunge.
