Nu-Clear Sounds by Ash

dan_thw [Edit] [Delete] 23:25, 25 March '08

I'm listening to this for the first time in about 8 years, and this honestly could have been one of the best British albums of all time. I love the way it's produced. As it is, it's made rubbish because of four or five absolute stinkers (you know which ones I mean - the slow Tim Wheeler wrote it on his own ones). Just imagine if you had taken them off, put A Life Less Ordinary on it, and the best three or four songs from Free All Angels. It would have been mega! Coming off the back of 1977, they would have become massive! As it is, that 5 night Astoria stint is the biggest thing they have done, right?

Any other Ash fans out there? Are they any good these days?

To make this a slightly wider debate - can people think of any other albums by other bands that are let down by a few songs, and otherwise could have been great if you'd have stuck some later songs the band wrote on it instead?
