I think they both underplay the need for filtering the wheat from the chaff though. Although it's pretty well understood that the old / current structure for the major labels is outdated and the tides of change are forcing them to adapt, there's still the question of who'll emerge from all of this fortuitous and whether the result after these years of turbulence will end in a handful of companies calling the shots, albeit in a different way. It's a shame the views of the future of these articles still feel so utopian and don't offer any real solid ideas or predictions of what trends are emerging strongly, in my opinion.
