Why do Zita Swoon (ex-dEUS) never play the UK?
I find post Stef Kamil Carlens dEUS a little too middle of the road for my liking, but find Zita Swoon too scattershot, unfocused almost to the point of a lightweight Belgian Mr Bungle. Despite this though, I'd like to see them live as listening to their music gives me the impression that it would all come together that way.
Last.fm reveals that they tour a fair amount these days, but it seems all the love lies squarely with Barman, and whilst the bland incarnation of dEUS goes from strength to strength (to be fair though, it's still pretty good, just not legendary and exciting as I thought the first two dEUS albums were but more of a refined comfortable rock vessel with hints of their past, but no more) it seems that Zita Swoon is a name I never hear.
To be fair though, vocally Tom > Stef although with Tom on lead vocals, Stef was the perfect backing vocals. A partnership as successful as Mike Mills and Michael Stipe or Simon and Garfunkel.
Anyway, I'm just rambling now. Anyone else feel the love for Zita Swoon? About The Successful Emotional Recovery Of A Gal Named Maria a fantastic song? Yes?
