Is anyone going to the Proms?

Yes, yes, I know the Last Night is a hideous jingoistic anachronism, but there's plenty of good stuff before that.

I'm going to this on the 13th, because all the reviews of Gustavo Dudamel with the Simon Bolivar orchestra* last year made me really wish I'd been there. Also, I like his name. Also also, I like the idea of a dancing clarinettist:

I'm going to this as well, because I love the Planets suite, and the description of the Xenakis piece as "brutal" intrigues me:

I've booked seats for the first two, because I'm too lazy to queue up on the day (and worried that I might not get in). But the fact you can get £5 standing tickets on the day is pretty excellently democratic.
