who approves song usage on tv shows?

spookyelectric [Edit] [Delete] 20:39, 26 August '08

do the band themselves get any say in it or does it just go through publishing or something? i know they approve adverts themselves but songs are used on trailers and current affairs pieces constantly, so im assuming they dont personally approve every one?

i just heard hot chip on a horrifically stupid video game documentary:

http://www.ukresistance.co.uk/2006/09/virtually-addicted-worlds-most.html

which i'm sure they would probably never have approved had they seen the documentary beforehand
