you may have noticed we're having a bit of a walkmen fanboy day on DiS today. Such a special but under rated band. Which is your favourite record by them?

Isn't it weird how New York had that moment where all these bands were on top of the world and the Walkmen kinda preceeded a lot of it or you could even say laid a lot of the foundations with Jonathan Fire*Eater (know there's a lot of love for them, where should i start with their catalogue? any other new york bands of that era DiSsers should check out?) but they've never really been given a lot of credit for it. Or at least it doesn't seem like that.

Anyway, this got me to wondering, should DiS do little bundles of things like this every so often? And should we maybe do a whole New York week later in the year? It's something I'd like to do and can hopefully get some decent access to bands, labels, websites based there, etc. Thoughts?
