Now, I would never go so far as to quaestion the impeccible tastes of the DIS community, but some of the favourites with the forum-regulars fall into the 'clever music' catagory. Bands such as 'Deerhunter', 'Why?' and 'Alphabeat' (The last one's a joke) are absolutely fantastic, but it does require a lot from the listener in terms of concentration. Some might call it pretentious, others; intellectual, but sometimes I want to be listening to something that doesn't require a degree in musicology to 'understand' it. (There are plenty, far more fitting, examples of my point, but my mind escapes me a.t.m)

Can anyone suggest anything quite new that is just great, rocking music. Something that will sound great after one or two listens, rather than "You'll need to play the album 10-20 times to get into it" as I so often hear?
