releasing records in december... bad idea?

cumulous_nimbus [Edit] [Delete] 14:27, 8 October '08

i'm going to self release an ep soon. It's getting mastered on friday and then going off to manufacturer. Ideally I would like to release it this year but i've heard its good to leave at least 2 months between finishing the disc and the release for reasons of getting it into press etc so this means that the release date would be mid decmber. But then i'm nervous about releasing in december as it is so close to christmas.. do you think i am right in my worries or should i just get it out there... you never know, a few people might buy it for christmas presents or something..any thoughts would be most welcome
