Pitchfork- Skeletal Lamping Review

Nixon [Edit] [Delete] 17:45, 21 October '08

So, I really hate to have to start one of those "Pitchfork gave an poor review to an album I like" threads, but I am going to anyway. A 5.9, is just wrong, wrong, wrong. Sounds like the typical "Love one album, hate the follow-up" Pitchfork review formula to me.

I find Skeletal Lamping to be more listenable than Hissing Fauna, although on first few listens I thought Skeletal Lamping was terrible. I enjoy the schizophrenic feel and the more 70's pop sound. I like that Barnes is back to singing about fictional characters rather than himself as well. I thought Hissing Fauna was self indulgent in that regard.

Glad I got that out, am I alone here? Whaddya think?
