If you're playing a gig, what do you expect and what do you not expect?

ehwhat [Edit] [Delete] 12:50, 28 October '08

I'd expect:

Not to have to pay for any equipment / basically not have to pay the venue anything

Not to have to buy tickets in advance

Money towards a cab if needed to transport heavy bits of kit that other bands were using

A fair soundcheck if I turned up on time (i.e promoter / sound guy being firm with a band who were taking much too much too long, eating into other bands time - all within reason)

To meet the promoter before doors open, not at around 10pm

A fair-ish cut of the door if more than 10 people came to see me.

a couple of free guestlist spaces

I'd not expect:

Free Beer / food

A dressing room / backstage room

a set fee

transport home
