Hokaben- who went?

theetersecrimp [Edit] [Delete] 11:53, 11 November '08

Apologies if this thread has been and gone...who went? What did everyone think? Easily my festival of the year, the weekend was made awesome by the following artists:

Sun Ra's Arkestra- absolutely incredible, so chuffed to finally see the Arkestra in full swing, playing unreleased and unperformed Sun Ra material as well as older songs and a few covers. Great way to finish the festival.

aPAtT- so glad to have finally seen aPAtT after being told many times how good they are live. I definitely need to see them again.

Chops- Chops played new songs which were verging on pop (I use that term very loosely). It sounded awesome, looking forward to an album, if one is due out.

Le Couteau Jaune- a nice distraction from the chugga-chugga/doom/noisy music coming from the other rooms. Half the audience looked a bit surprised, the other half were nodding their heads in approval.

Stearica- Stearica were my surprise find of the festival. Blissfully noisy post rock, not something I'd usually choose to listen to but very satisfying nonetheless.
