Is it ever OK to tout?

leather_McWhip [Edit] [Delete] 22:13, 14 November '08

I seem to have pretty loose morals in terms of selling tickets. I've recently sold laura marling and fleet foxes tickets to strangers for face value because I'd double booked myself. Didn't look for a profit because I wouldn't want to rip off a fellow fan.

However, I work close to the manchester academies box office so on my lunchtime walks I've picked up tickets with the sole intention of making profit on ebay. This is only for bands I have no interest in. The ones I've touted recently are Ting Tings, Kaiser Chiefs and Katy Perry. In my defence I only started doing it to pay off a massive month of ticket buying including >£60 + trains to see Leonard Cohen in Birmingham.

Is this acceptable or should I be taking a look at myself?
