Just listened to this first time through. Woah. I like Hella, but always found them a bit one dimensional- like there was only so far they could go and they just seemed to be far too techy and not soulful enough. But Astrological Straits is something special: lots of variation to go with the wild drum freakouts, some good sounding vocals, and some brilliant riffs and solos. It was even special enough to make me buy a £9 ticket to see him in a few weeks. Possible album of the year contender. What do you think, DiS?
