i reckon these will be unfairly maligned:

Hot Chip - Made In The Dark. Seemed to be considered the indicator of a downhill trajectory by most reviews i read at the time. They all stalled around the 6/7 out of ten mark. Too many slow ones i guess.

Long Blondes - Couples. No it's not got the same punch as their previous work, as Singles quite cruelly makes evident, but i think working with Erol Alkan was a brave move and still produced some pretty good results i think.

Misty's Big Adventure - Television's People. i don't think they've even got a manager now, they've got no chance. Shame.

And of course, Applicants - Life In The Bus Lane. Easily my favourite of the year.
