If you want to register for a (probably rather small) chance to play at Great Escape 2009 you have to pay a monthly fee? I'm pretty sure that didn't happen for this year....

And if you want to send bigger record companies your latest hip and happening demo you have to do the same?

When did all this come about? Is it not just a pay-to-play type affair only with no gaurentee of playing anywhere at all? How are working class heroes like myself meant to get anywhere these days? Does anyone care? Have I spelt "gaurentee" wrong there? Is that too many questions?
