Artist's intentions VS conversational consumption

Sophomore [Edit] [Delete] 07:04, 23 November '08

Inspired by the claim that No Age's "Nouns" is better once placed on shuffle with "Weirdo Rippers", I'd like to ask you, the DiS community, at what point do you stop "enhancing" an album? When do you merely leave the album alone as crap, because the artist's intentions were poorly executed?

I have heard of people reversing Pullhair Rubeye (Avey Tare and Kria Brekken's physically backward album), I have heard of people adding Foal's previous singles to the album. How about remixing an album until it completely fulfils one's individual needs? Will it reach that point?
