Now, I'm not the type to normally pay a lot of attention to recordings of live performances, but this is a rare exception. Before I could get my hands on their second album, I bought this EP and would sit on the floor of my very fashionable apartment back home and listen to it over and over and over again, and I'd get so excited about the second album and it made me very happy, I walked around smiling nearly non-stop for a few days and most of my conversations would be Art Brut related and if they weren't, I'd make them, I'd have an Argos quote for every occasion. And then once the album was released I didn't listen as much to this EP anymore (except for the b-sides that aren't on either of the albums), until about a month or two ago when I listened to it almost by accident, and that sense of sheer euphoria came over me again. It is almost as good as seeing them live, and in dark times when my mind is troubled this is one of the sources I turn to for inspiration.
