Music Social More…

How do you approach/appreciate music?

speedkills [Edit] [Delete] 17:28, 16 December '08

I'm interested in how people here see music. Who sees it as art, and appreciates it in a similar way to appreciating other forms of art? Who sees it as something to be appreciated on an intellectual level, or a conceptual level? Who considers it to be a more like a basic form of pleasure? Who sees it as just being the background to good times with friends? Do you agonise over the meaning of that lyrical reference or guitar style when placed in the historical/social context of the music's creation, or do you just like to hear a good beat or melody?
