how i listen to music and why the industry probably don't like it
So I thought i'd give What Did You Expect From The Vaccines a go, I put it into a playlist on Spotify and i've been listening through it occasionally removing a song if I decide that it's not that good. Currently there are 7 of the 11 songs still remaining.
I have done this with other albums, picking and choosing to make a compilation of the really good songs for the sake of having something I want to listen to all the way through.
Does anyone else do this?
I can't imagine buying the album, but it will get listened to quite a few times. I guess this is the problem the industry has at the moment, I won't part with money specifically towards a band but i'm happy to listen on a service that i'm paying £5/month for. In the past, i'd have bought the album at this point. The reason i'm listening to the album in the first place is because I first saw the band on Jools Holland, and then heard the next single, read about them in the media etc. This used to be enough to get people buying an album, now it gets people listening, but not buying. I will buy an album if it's amazing, but not if it's anything less. What the fuck CAN the industry do though? I don't see how they can get me buying more music, I really don't.
