Kid's gonna blow up in a big way.

The brief: 17-year-old MC arrives fully formed, sounding not too dissimilar from Nas or Big L. His mixtape '1999' dropped this week after long delays and is really, really, really good. In pretty much all areas. Clocks in at an hour but with little flab/filler and no Odd Future-type gimmicks etc. Dude is extremely talented, seems to be operating very much in an other era but it's a refreshing and worthwhile throwback listen.

He will surge through in the EOY lists I bet.
