Both Bandcamp and Soundcloud represent advert-free music sites for artists to use with a host of great features. But Bandcamp takes a modest cut of sales so I can see how that is kept afloat.

Soundcloud doesn't (to my knowledge) offer a sales facility. So if we don't know how it's funded I guess it's wide open to suddenly be altered Instagram-style so that all your music on there is suddenly free to be used by corporations, etc.

Or maybe because it's German it's got some kind of incredible cool state arts funding that English speaking countries think is for communists and idiots?
