Music Social More…

it's pretty much spring, so spring music in here

'Sung Tongs' is the one I always come back to - it has an uncanny magic that makes me feel young, even if I'm feeling dead inside. but spring does that, right?

it's in the bold, youthful vocals, never too self-conscious, always naturalistic, whether sweetly meandering, chanted, garbled or harmonised like sun dappling through bare and budding trees.

it's the Brazilian influence on the campfire folk, in the wandering melodies, playfully weaving through aeolian and pentatonic minors and back to the majors...

then the fleet-footed,criss-crossing rhythms, picking through sprightly arpeggios, flurried chords, all on golden dual acoustics that carry the rhythm over intermittent thumping toms or snare rims or all manner of hand percussion.

but then for the most part it just hangs like that subtle perfume of rebirth in the air, on the breeze, gentle as grass on bare feet.
