I'm not sure what I think about Bradford Cox

Nothing he says or does is particularly surprising in that piece, but I still think there is a possible contradiction in how he presents himself. I remember Cronin saying last year (when talking about Dan Bejar) that he was sulk joins of how "mad" Cox actually is. He seems to flit readily from spontaneity to obsessiveness, initially only asking if his tv performance was "punk" before proclaiming that everybody else's idea of "punk" means nothing to him. I can imagine a lot of what he does isn't so scripted, like the My Sharona thing, but I reckon he's always aware of his actions and how this enhances how he is perceived.
All in all I wonder how muh this actually matters when listeningto Deerhunter/Atlas Sound but then he is an artist who definitely see music in an artistic way (like Bejar or Will Sheff) so it falls a bit to consider his antics as occasionally quite cynical. It's a head scratcher. Also that bit about he artistic value of older music compared to today...why is he making music then?
