Were records much cheaper than CDs in the pre-CD age?
I have no recollection of those times, obviously. In the 90s I would describe CDs as significantly expensive for most people. By significant, I mean you'd be hard pressed to buy even one a week if you didn't have a decent office job.
I don't know if this was always the case. I assumed it was but for all I know, records were something people bought frequently and they were as cheap as they are now, effectively.
