I've only seen The Fall twice. Once at the theatre royal in Windsor and once at CoCo's, in London.

At the Theatre royal it was quite funny because the support band were a local thrash band that clearly had played about 1 gig in their entire lives. They were incredibly nervous but the crowd were really supportive, so after a couple if tracks they started to enjoy themselves.

During the Fall's set MES managed to tangle up the bass player with his mic lead, obviously purposefully but the crowds semi-astonished reaction would have pleased Mes. He also got a member if the audience on stage and got home to sing for a whole song, which wouldn't have been to bad except the song was ad lobbed. The band had also been primed to be cruel to the person; telling him to "fucking. Sing". It was pretty torturous to watch.

At CoCos he did the usual amp twiddling, then during one if the songs told his wife and the drummer to walk off stage with him, and just left the bassist and guitarist on stage for 5 minutes on their own.

I really live that footage when Brix era Fall are playing on The Tube or something, and Mark has obviously told the drummer to play a lot faster during the version of The Mixer, that they play, without telling the rest of the band. The look on Brix's face vs the look on Marks face us priceless.
