Belated 'what have you been listening to this week?' thread w/ opportunities for last.fm showboating
Play counts very low 'cause my headphones still haven't been returned so forced to listen to records/CDs more than usual (woe is me)
1. Swans - 12
2. Mark McGuire - 11
3. Aziz Ansari - 10
4. webcast@media.berkeley.edu - 8
5. Kyle Kinane - 7
blah blah blah
1. Listened to The Seer start-to-finish without doing anything else for the first time the other day. Shit is that a good album. Can't wait to see them live again; their show earlier this year is easily the best concert I've seen. ALso listened to Soundtracks for the Blind yesterday - so good too. Volcano is ridiculous, and Blood Section is triumphant as fuck. Going to listen to Not Here, Not Now later I think.
3. Gave him another go 'cause his new special got a glowing review over on the AV Club. Don't really appreciate his whole shtick - I like him on Parks & Rec but alone and concentrated he's a little irritating.
4. Hubert Dreyfus' lecture series on Heidegger. Pretty great!
Also been listening to Age of Adz a lot - am very much looking forward to Christmas time so I can listen to Silver & Gold again (Christmas Unicorn especially). Tried to listen to Richard Youngs' new one/Amaranthine because they arrived the other day but I just don't think I get it, which is a shame because I know own those two records having bought them in a fit of pique. WIll try again I suppose.
