Do you use ear defenders when seeing particularly noisy bands play?

Worst hearing loss experienced at a gig?

Mine was being about 6ft from the speakers at The Hives (back in 2002). I'm sure I'm partially deaf in one ear as a result. Too much tinny guitar.
