Can't work out a sensible title for this thread. When a new album is released by a band I don't know, I often ignore the new one and buy the next best thing from their back catalogue (usually cheaper).

I did that this year with Braids (buying Native Speaker after reading about the new one) and last year with Blood Red Shoes (buying Fire Like This after reading about the new one).

Does anybody else do this? If so, which albums NOT released this year did you get into via a record being released this year?
