Is it too late to become a rock star in your late 20s?
By late 20s I mean 26 - 28. I'm starting to get a bit anxious of reading about my favourite bands who'd already formed and signed with record labels when they were my age and a few years later went on to become massively famous. (I'm 21 but I'm still gonna be at university for some time.)
Also, how hard is it to get yourself onto a decent independent record label? Is there even such a thing?
Oh, and can you think of any successful rock stars who weren't famous until they were in their late 20s or early 30s? I'm sick of hearing people say 'only adolescents make the best music'.
And just to clarify, I know it's hard to make a fortune in the music business these days, but I can live with that. I'm not in it for the money exactly. I just want to write brilliant music and become a controversial cultural icon, i.e. the next Morrissey or Liam Gallagher.
