Stuff that you didn't have high expectation for, but managed to exceed them:

Warpaint (s/t): First album was all over the place, but this one is more streamlined and more memorable. Kind of odd that it seems very polarising: fans of the first album seem to dislike it while fans of this album don't care as much for the older one; very little overlap.

Bo Ningen - III: The vocals are still a hinderance, but the music is much stronger and the singer often knows when to disappear for a few minutes.

Fennesz - Becs: I've found his previous work a bit too esoteric, but this one clicked right away for me.
