DiS Users July Album Of The Month.
The same rules/format as the previous months. Feel free to mention as many albums as you like but please make your album of the month clear as it helps with tallying up the scores. Also, if you list a bunch of albums without specifying your favourite I'll take the first one mentioned as your album of the month unless otherwise stated. (Sorry to be such a pedant.)
My album of the month is Slow Club - Complete Surrender.
I had their previous two albums and had seen them a number of times live prior to their latest album release. I had them down as a couple of really nice people that produced ok-ish albums but were always great fun live. Their latest album was a complete surprise to me of how good they really could be. Simply brilliant tunes and brilliant lyrics.
Best songs are "Not Mine To Love" and "Dependable People And Things That I'm Sure Of"
Like me, if you thought they were just an ok band before this album do give them another chance and check this album out. Their 100 Club album release show was brilliant.
This album is easily my favourite album by a British band this year.
I'll keep this thread open until next Sunday (most likely) so everyone has at least five days to listen to Monday's releases. I'm currently on a sort of road trip holiday in The USA and so will add up the votes when time permits and wi-fi access is available and hence the slight vagueness on the closing of the thread. As usual please forgive any shameless bumps that I may do (wi-fi depending).
