A thread about Soundcloud, the majors getting a piece and the DiS community podcasts I did last year
Hello
As most of you will probably know I did a few DiS community podcasts last year (original thread here; http://drownedinsound.com/community/boards/music/4424334)
As a lot of you also probably know, Soundcloud is about to announce that the 3 majors (Warner, Universal & Sony) are to be partners in their service. From what I've read they've come to a deal in which the majors get equity and streaming revenue in return for not pursuing copyright infringement - a similar deal to spodify it seems
Given this info and bearing in mind that I signed up to a Soundcloud Pro account back when I started the podcasts in order to have enough room to host them I'm afraid I'm going to be deleting them as I wont be continuing with my Pro subscription and thus will have limited SC space
I'm making this thread as a heads up though as the podcasts are availible to d/l for free until I remove them should you want to 'own' them

shame to have to do this but I'll be buggered if I'm gonna pay the majors to make money off my own work (and yours)
so yeah, I'll be deleting DiS CPR at the weekend so you have a couple of days
