and what song/album grabbed your attention?

I've spent a long time liking The Velvet Underground categorically, but never seriously liking them. It wasn't until hearing Femme Fatale and All Tomorrow's Parties on close inspection that I fell for them. Now I listen to White Light/White Heat for pleasure (Sister Ray kicks ass doesn't it?).

My parents have The Best of Joy Division on CD which they used to play in the car. I never liked it. Then I heard my dad's tape of Unknown Pleasures in our other older car on a journey somewhere (our usual one was being fixed), which I also didn't like and sounded shit on the speakers, but Shadowplay... fuck. That song grabbed my attention. Then I was like 'hmm alright', and took a dive into Closer on Spotify. Didn't like it at first, until I got round to Twenty Four Hours/The Eternal/Decades. They quickly became one of my favourite bands.
