S - Cool Choices
Jenn Ghetto goes full band for the first time since Carissa's Wierd and it's brilliant. I've loved everything she's put out so far, and was worried that moving away from the hushed, intimate solo work would lose some of the intense melancholy that made her other albums so wonderful, but this is still as beautiful and personal while taking on new dimensions. Plus it feels oddly timely, what with the old school emo revival, to have a fantastic, catchy, twinkly, poppy rock album with torn-from-the-diary lyrics and a totally unguarded vocal style. S rules.
