Neil Young
Slightly ashamed to say I am only a very recent convert to Neil Young - probably only in the last couple of years have I properly got into him, despite liking good music for nearly twenty years now. Just always assumed he was a bit of a stuffy old classic rocker who did too many guitar solos, so largely ignored people telling me he was great. I was quite wrong, wasn't I?
Despite now knowing his 60s/70s stuff inside out, I am pretty much ignorant - apart from Ragged Glory and Freedom - of anything released post Rust Never Sleeps. Am wondering if any of you would be kind enough to make me a spotify playlist of your perceived "best of" (maybe 20 tracks?) of his output 1980 - 2014? Or just list them here?
Also - FAO NY fans - Finally saw him live earlier this year and had a great time. Realised though that there are loads and loads of great songs by him I'm almost certainly never gonna hear live, and others may not have heard live, so I decided to organise a tribute night near his 69th birthday. Got three excellent London based Americana acts - Dead Flowers, Lowpines, Uncle Luc - to do split sets between their own stuff and Neil Young songs - plus there's gonna be a live karaoke set of Neil Young classics, and a full hour plus long greatest hits of the 60s/70s set too. Saturday 15th November at The Windmill in Brixton - get involved, gonna be a blast - https://www.facebook.com/events/651466964944899/
