Ok, it's October, which means next month the media will be voting for the annual BBC Sound of... / Brits Critics Choice type of polls which become agenda setters for the first half of the year, and the names that will be on most festival bills.

Needn't be an act who is yet to release a debut album. The way that "new" is so ill-defined now, you can be a new act with 2 albums and be old after 2 singles. I'm not sure anyone really knows what "new music" is any more.
