I don't mean the punk/hardcore bands, they seem to be having a real purple patch. I'm referring to those bands who use R.E.M and Radiohead, for example, as a real touchstone. A few years ago there was a real glut; The National, The Walkmen, Wilco, The Decemberists, Fleet Foxes, Wolf Parade, Shearwater, Spoon...many of whom are still around, but I don't see much coming on to the scene.
