New night of experimental / exploratory music in Kentish Town Camden – starts April 21st w/Blurt + support
Hello, something of a newb to this forum so apologies in advance. But I'm starting up a regular night of experimental / exploratory / weird music at the Fiddler’s in Kentish Town (that's 1 Malden Road, a stonesthrow from either Chalk Farm tube or Kentish Town West overground) and I thought it might be of interest to some people here. We are also on the lookout for acts to perform. It'll be the third Tuesday of each month.
The first instalment is actually tomorrow – April 21st – from 8pm til midnight, and will feature my own new band Far Rainbow (soundcloud.com/far-rainbow) followed by the improvising saxophone and turntable duo Colin Webster & Graham Dunning (whose album on Linear Obsessional from last year, Estigate, is pretty wonderful – http://linearobsessional.bandcamp.com/album/estigate).
Finally, the night will end with an hour long set from the mighty BLURT, a band who have been around for about as long as I've been alive, signed to Factory, beloved of John Peel, still as fierce and wild as ever.
In between bands, recorded music by the likes of Moondog, Terry Riley, Art Bears, Laurie Spiegel, the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, the Advisory Circle, Art Ensemble of Chicago, Oren Ambarchi will be played. Alcoholic beverages will be on sale. It will cost about a fiver to get in.
Do get in touch if you’d like to perform at some future event.
