Elysia Crampton - Moth / Lake
Lake: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHDD83EL4eQ
Debut release from Elysia Crampton. Two very different, but equally evocative tracks, Moth featuring a fantastic monologue Money Allah backed by sweeping airy synthesis. Lake, meanwhile is a slowed African rhythm filled with sampling references to early slavery and religious texts.
Downtown Boys - Full Communism
Dancing In The Dark (Bruce Springsteen Cover): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZnTHH3pUqg
Downtown Boys are a bilingual six-piece who make an urgent, furious, blistering, trebly noise, the sort of thing you absolutely can’t ignore when it’s on. Their music is personal and political in ways that get tangled up with each other, and it’s real enough that I’m not even mad that they spend an entire song calling out tall boys.
King of Cats - Microwave Oven

Eschewing the conventions of the “rock group”, Levy employs bouzouki, keyboard and drum machine to incredible effect, framing the wit and humour you probably remember from Working Out in an infinitely more original and appropriate context. Levy explains: “It sounds like an attempt at something I am unable to achieve, which is what I want.”
