DiS Users July 2015 Album Of The Month
**VOTE FOR TWO ALBUMS**
Vote for your favourite album and also runner up the album of the month. Make your selections clear please as it makes tallying up the scores easier. If you list a whole bunch of albums without making your selections clear I'll take the first two mentioned as 1st and 2nd place. Sorry to be a pedant.
Your album of the month will get two points and 2nd placed album one point. If you name only one album I'll give that two points.
I've noticed that on occasions there's a Facebook post of this thread. On a few occasions last year I think the Facebook votes changed the AOTM compared to votes here alone. If it's acceptable I'll only give Facebook people one vote which will only get one point. It's an attempt to weight the scoring heavier in the favour of DiS users that take the time and effort to vote and discuss the albums released rather than just naming/listing artists that I've seen on the FB post. Hopefully, the end result will much more reflect the opinions of actual DiS users.
Please forgive any shameless bumps of this thread during the week. I'll keep this thread open until Sunday 9th August and so you'll have over a week to listen to tomorrow's releases before choosing.
Vote now!! (Or later in the week) but make your 1st and 2nd choices clear please.
My choices:
1. Titus Andronicus - The Most Lamentable Tragedy
2. Veruca Salt - Ghost Notes
I only downloaded the Titus Andronicus album yesterday and have only heard it through once all the way. But it's an awesome album. I can see myself listening to this for absolute ages.I loved their first album but not the subsequent two follow ups. This one is brilliant. Despite its dark theme it's such a fun listen. (Again with release dates, I'm not sure when it's officially out. Amazon list it as an August release but I downloaded it legally via my Google Play subscription and so I'll vote for it here.)
A pretty good comeback for Veruca Salt. Giving away my age, Seether was one of my soundtracks for summer 1994 when I finished my A'Levels and waiting to start university. I never rated their albums much but this is easily their best. Not a brilliant album but worth checking out.
