Looking at all the year-end lists, I was stunned to see Grimes (topped NME's list) and Julia Holter doing quite so well. Both really interesting artists but bar a couple of tracks, both albums felt a bit of a disappointment (especially as they're right in the sweet spot on the venn diagram of music I'd usually love), and a little incongruous as 'albums'. Makes me wonder whether people even give a crap about an album beyond it having 1 song they love and 3-4 songs they quite like on it. I guess people don't really have much time to explore too far.

Which records seem to be getting loads of love that you're a bit baffled by?
