THE SCHOOL are seeking a South Wales-based drummer as soon as possible.

Our drummer is leaving because he lives in Birmingham and is also doing very well with his own solo project, so he can't stay in our band anymore.

BACKGROUND

Our band are signed to Elefant Records and will be releasing a single on 11th February, followed by an EP then the debut album later in the year. These have been recorded by Ian Catt (St Etienne).

We've recently been covered by Pitchfork and appeared on Plan B Magazine's October CD covermount, and will be included in a couple of 2008 forecasts eg. Under the Radar Magazine.

There will be lots of touring, including trips to Sweden and Spain in Jan/Feb - however if the drummer isn't ready for these then our old drummer can fill in for a bit.

REQUIREMENTS

Things are looking good for us, so we don't want any timewasters. Please don't get in touch if you're a session musician or money-grabbing, have a drug habit, are unable to commit to shows (see our myspace for an idea), or someone who's really bitter towards everything.

We're looking for someone who doesn't mind occasionally sleeping on a sofa while on tour, and doesn't care whether they're playing to 20 people or 250 people.

We need someone who shares similar musical tastes and is willing to put in time to practice / tour including time off work. We'd prefer it if they didn't already have other major band commitments as I've found this to cause a few let-downs in the past, and we don't want them or us having to cancel or turndown gigs if they clash.

Our influences include 60's girl groups / The Beach Boys / Camera Obscura / Lucky Soul / Belle & Sebastian / Saturday Looks Good to Me.

Please get in touch asap and spread the word if you know anyone - we need to start filming videos / photoshoots / practicing / playing very soon, we're going to be busy in 2008.
