The Recent Future need a bassist…

We are an alt.experimental.rock band based around south/east London. Our bassist just left for personal reasons. We’re looking for a bassist with at least some experience, but most importantly a desire to play heavy rock and try stuff out, at least 18 years old (our average age is about 23, although ranges from 19-27).

We have gigs + recording sessions booked and no time to lose!!!

Existing members are myself on vocals/guitar , Lewis Omo on drums + Matt Pettit also on guitar. Lewis is probably the best drummer I’ve ever met and Matt’s guitaring is incredible. As a threesome we are constantly pushing to create an original sound, and hopefully our new EP will reflect this (just as soon as I finish mixing it…) For now you can hear some vocal-less demos on our myspace: http://myspace.com/therecentfuture

We are signed to our own record label, Recent/Future Records (http://myspace.com/recentfuturerecords). We really mean it, we’re gonna be putting out our own stuff, probably along with Panic Attract (http://myspace.com/panicattract).

We run a night (again with Panic Attract) called Recent/Future Sounds @ the Flea Pit in East London. We put on bands we adore and try to carve out a little space for ourselves. http://myspace.com/recentfuturesounds
